Beneath the Southern Alps of New Zealand’s South Island lies Glenaan Station. We are Paul and Prue Ensor, and together with our children Juliet, Guy, and Hugh, we are the fourth generation of Ensors to farm here. From tussock-covered hills to fertile river flats, this is where the Hemprino story begins - a place shaped by nature, family, and generations of care for the land.

ZQ Merino Wool Meets Hemp.
Natural Fibres
In recent years, synthetics have increasingly been blended with Merino wool to enhance performance - helping garments hold their shape, drape well, and last longer. But we wanted a natural alternative. After three years of research and development with some of the world’s leading wool spinners, we found it: the perfect recipe of Merino and hemp.

Farming with Nature.
Sustainably Farmed
Sustainable farming practices play a key role at Glenaan Station, with ongoing monitoring of rare native grass populations, invertebrates, shrublands, animal health, biodiversity, soil health, and waterways. Additionally, 7.5 hectares of land is protected under the QEII Trust, alongside wilding pine control and diverse pasture species trials. Our merino wool is ZQ and Responsible Wool Standard Certified.

For The Next Generation.
Family-Owned
Hemprino is owned by two Canterbury farming families – Paul and Prue Ensor, and Clint and Harriet Bell. Being a family business means we’re personally involved in every step, from the paddock to packing your order. We know the people behind our products, and we stand behind every piece we create. There’s pride in that. And a deep sense of responsibility. Hemprino is also for the next generation – a way to create something lasting, and to open doors for our children, just as our families did for us.
